This activity is about jobs around the community. The children are supposed to match the pictures of the people in one column with the pictures of the other objects in the second column. They can talk about what these people do and how they help the community. This can also start a discussion about different people and jobs in the community. The children can list other people who help the community.

Amy I love your idea! It is great because children hear and know about the particular careers shown in your pictures. With you lesson, children are able to visually show and connect the person and what they do or how they help the community. You could also have children find pictures in a magazine instead of them just listing them verbally!
Amy I think that this is a really great idea. It is so good to use real pictures of real people for little kids. This way they can understand that it isn't just pretend. They can learn about the real jobs that real people do in their communities. You could maybe even expand the lesson by having the students bring in pictures of their parents and talk about what their parents do as far as jobs. That way the students are learning about new jobs.
This is a really good idea. I really like how you made is hard but easy for children of all ages. I think that is shows how children think and what they think. I think this is a really good idea and something to think about is to expand the pictures so there are a little easier to see incase someone in your class has a visual impairment! I love it.
I love your idea about jobs in the community. I think children at a young age do need to be aware of all jobs in their community. Some children do have their dreams to be a doctor or to go into space, but it is great to show everything else they could do when they get older.
